"Where Is Your Faith?" Deloris Barr Executive Producer, Playwright & Director Rosanna Brown-Simmons Director of Acting |
|
Deloris was born in Florence County, Johnsonville, South Carolina. She is the daughter of the late Luther Rufus(Mary) Barr. She has five sisters, one brother, two nieces, two nephews and two brothers-in-law.
Deloris was converted at an early age and joined the St. James Baptist Church. There she worked on the Usher Board.
One of her favorite scriptures is Psalm 37. One of her favorite songs is, "Look Where He Brought Me From". She realizes that every good and every perfect gift comes from God.
Deloris developed her passion for gospel music by following her father's quartet group (The Johnsonville All-Stars).
Since relocating in Wilmington, Delaware, Deloris has sung with many gospel groups and choirs in and around Delaware such as:
She along with her sister (Rose), traveled to Nashville, Tennessee in 1994 to participate in Dr. Bobby
Jones' Gospel Explosion IX. They sang with the Gospel Explosion IX Mass Choir.
Deloris has been included in MARQUIS' Who's Who in the East (1995-1996 25th Edition).
She has written many GOSPEL songs via the Divine Holy Spirit. Many of these songs have been
published (Order Now) and many, with the help of the Lord, will be published in the near future. Click here for a 2003 UNISONG review of the title song (An original Christmas song) from her first release 'What An Amazing Child': Click here for review.
One of Deloris' original poems was published via International Library of Poetry (Throwing Stardust) in 2003. The title of the poem is "He Knows, He's Been There."
Deloris' mind often reflects on all of the blessings from God. She continues to praise Him for
the wisdom to know that all BLESSINGS (Past, Present and Future) are because of no goodness of
her own, but by the GRACE OF GOD. She rests assured that when this earthly tabernacle shall dissolve, she has another building, not made by man, but by God. In this new building, she will live eternally with the Lord.
It is He who saved us and chose us for His holy work, not because we
deserved it but because that was His plan long before the world began -

She has also written comedy and a play, "Where Is Your Faith?". The play was presented on March 6 and 7, 1998 at Howard High School of Technology. Mt. Sinai Baptist Church was executive producer. It was a blessed experience. The play was presented for the second time on August 3, 2001 at 7:00PM. It was held at The Grand Opera House, 818 North Market Street in Wilmington, DE; this time Deloris was executive producer. We would like to recognize the record/publishing companies that allowed us to use some of their materials in the play (WORD, MALACO, Verity (Zomba Publishing), ALEHO(1998), EMI Music, CGI and DeeBarr Productions).
We have received many good reviews from both productions and in God's time, we'll do it all over again. Please click
