Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem, in Judea, during the reign of King Herod.
At about that time some astrologers from eastern land; arrived in Jerusalem, asking...
”Where is the newborn King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in far off eastern lands,
and have come to worship Him.” King Herod was deeply disturbed by their question,
and all of Jerusalem was filled with rumors.
Soar with me for a moment … as I allow my imagination to take flight.
Can’t you just see King Herod right now? … Let’s enter into the very core of his mind...
What do these astrologers mean … ‘New … born … King?’ I … Herod … am King … No one will take my place!
Can’t you just see him? pondering … wondering … searching... for the perfect solution... Ah-hh-hh! At last! I’ve got it! I’ll use the astrologers to lead me to Him...
little did he know, that the situation was in the Master’s hands.
Joseph, Mary and even the three wise men; their steps were ordered by God...
and when He spoke, they listened. And nothing, absolutely nothing! Was going to happen to this Child
When the astrologers found baby Jesus, they showered Him with gifts … gold … frankincense … and myrrh.
And did they report back to King Herod … No! Absolutely not!
For God directed them in a dream … that they should not return to Herod...
They departed … and went into their own country, another way.
