This play was written and copyrighted in 1996 by: Deloris Barr
The catalyst for the play was a Building Committee Meeting regarding our new church that we were planning to build.
We had no Pastor at that time. The members of the committee, which included the Chairman and Co-Chairman of our
Board of Deacons, sat in the Fellowship Hall of the old church, exchanging ideas regarding the new edifice. One
doubtful member spoke up and asked the question, "How are we going to pay for this new church?", hence the title:
"Where Is Your Faith?"

Matthew 6:30 reads thusly, "Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?" Some of us can't grasp even mustard seed Faith. It is stated in Hebrews 11:1 that "NOW Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. An unknown author wrote. "When you come to the end of all that you know, Faith is believing that when you step out into the darkness, there will be something solid for you to stand on, Or, you will be taught how to fly." In essence, 'It takes Faith , to step out on nothing, and believe that something is there' ... NOW Faith. This play centers around a small church that is in the process of building a new church. |
This play was presented at Howard High School of Technology in March of 1998. Executive producer was Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. It was presented again on August 03, 2001 at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, DE. Executive producer was Deloris Barr. Both productions were truly blessed. Featured in the play were gospel singers Anointed® & The Mighty Aires of Wilmington, Delaware. The cast & crew consisted of members and friends of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. We have received numerous positive reviews. To God Be The Glory! |
